The CNP enables cancer notifications and clinical information to be provided to the NSW Cancer Registry in an electronic format.
If your facility can generate a cancer notification extract that meets one of the following extract specifications, you can use the Batch File function.
Further information on the use of the Batch upload function on the CNP can be found in the Cancer Notification Portal User Guide Version 2.
If your system cannot generate a cancer notification extract, you will need to provide the information via the Web Form on the CNP.
Further information on the use of the Web Form can also be found in the Cancer Notification Portal User Guide Version 2.
Cancer is a notifiable disease under the Public Health Act 2010. Cancer notifications are received by the Cancer Institute on behalf of the NSW Ministry of Health and compiled in the NSW Cancer Registry (NSWCR). If your health facility diagnoses or treats someone with cancer, you must provide a notification to the NSWCR. Clinical information collected by agreements between the Cancer Institute and cancer services is also compiled in the NSWCR.
The information is used to improve outcomes for people with cancer. The information collected enables monitoring of cancer incidence, prevalence, mortality and survival, and informs initiatives to improve cancer system performance.
